Excerpt from "My Life on the Edge of Reality"
I was not surprised when Phil got out of bed and told me that he heard the voice of God on the bedside radio. Phil was recovering from shoulder surgery, and he was taking Percodan for the post-operative pain. He had thrown his own shoulder out of the socket, which had been damaged in a car accident about ten years earlier. What did surprise me is what Phil heard God say to him: “Your son has an inguinal hernia. Call the doctor.” So I called the doctor, made an appointment, got referred to a specialist and learned about our son’s hernia. But I am getting ahead of the story. That happened in August or September 1974, several months after the visitations began.
